Culminate an amazing weekend of agave education and celebration with the opening of the agave roasting pit.  Taste the smokey sweet caramelized penca and biguata (roasted agave leaves and heart). The evening includes presentations, as well as an assortment of La Luna mezcal spirits & cocktails paired with delicious local food prepared by Exo Roast.

Schedule:

• 6-6:50pm: Jesus Garcia, Agave expert, FOTB-MG Board Member presents on the process of roasting agaves re-collecting, preparing, roasting; opening the roasting pit and sampling roasted agave

• 7:00-7:45pm: Salvador Picazo Chaves (Mescalero, La Luna), mezcal tastings, food pairings; one neat pour of preferred mezcal expression (three expressions offered); one mezcal cocktail with Garden herbs/fruit infusion; food service catered by Exo Roast

• 7:45-8:30pm: Mingle with mezcaleros, cultivators, agave experts, and music; tabletop conversations with guests: Jesus Garcia (ASDM, Mission Garden), Salvador Picazo Chavez (La Luna), Collectivo Silvestre, Luis Loya (La Mata), Vinik Jure, & others
